PARTNERSHIP WORKING

If you are a member of staff in a School Nursery or Reception class, Day Nursery or Community Groups such as Toddler Groups, our Outreach Team are here to help YOU to support YOUR families.

By working in partnership we strive to ensure that all families receive integrated  services by being able to to access help from multi-disciplinary teams of professionals, therefore  allowing  all children to receive the best possible start in life.

FAMILY SUPPORT

Our team of  Outreach Staff are happy to help with issues  relating to:

Finance & Debt Management, Child Development, School Readiness, Relationship  Difficulties, Housing Questions, Drug &  Alcohol Awareness, Healthy Living, in fact any little blip that would block the potential for a   family to thrive,  If you are worried about a family and think we can help, call Linda, Tara or Theresa  0n 01884 348641to discuss our  referral process.

THE PARENTING PUZZLE   

From time to time we could all benefit from a little bit of help and advice when we are  dealing with our children. “The  Parenting Puzzle” is a 4 or 10 week course that      enables  parents and carers to enjoy bringing up children and get the best out of family life. If you would like our staff team to facilitate “The Parent Puzzle” for your parents OR to find out dates of sessions taking place locally

This course covers:

  • Understanding why children behave as they do
  • Recognising feelings & behaviour (adults & children)
  • Managing behaviour & Self– Discipline
  • Managing sleep & waking patterns
  • Making time for each other

 

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Throughout the week we facilitate various family friendly sessions, planned to support social and emotional needs in adults &      children and also to extend and develop speech & communication needs.

All events are supported by the ethos of Bookstart Corner which was launched in 2011 to help Children’s Centres offer    support to families in sharing stories, books & rhymes with their children.

  • Bumps & Beyond
  • Baby Massage
  • Kickers & Crawlers
  • Little Explorers
  • Stay & Play
  • Creative Little Characters

Free Early Education for Two year olds (FEET)

is an offer of up to 15 hours of free early education and childcare a week. If you think a family you are working with may be eligible, please contact the Children's Centre OR Surrey Family Information Centre

Qualifying Criteria

To be eligible to apply for FEET the family must meet either the automatically funded or financial criteria shown below.

Automatically funded criteria

  • If your child is in one of the groups listed below they will automatically be eligible:
  • Child looked after by Surrey County Council
  • Child who has left care through either a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or adoption order
  • Child with a current statement of special educational needs (SEN) or an education, health and care plan

Financial criteria

If the family receives one of the following benefits then the child may be eligible to claim FEET:

1)Income Support

2) Income based Jobseeker's Allowance

3) Income related Employment and Support Allowance

4) Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

5) The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

6) Child Tax Credit and have a gross annual income up to £16,190

7) Working Tax Credit and have a gross annual income up to £16,190

8)  Working Tax Credit 'run-on' – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

9) Child in receipt of Disability Living Allowance


Receiving FEET will not affect  benefits unless the family is receiving the Childcare Element of Working Tax Credit.

 

Early Years Pupil Premium

The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional government funding for childcare providers to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds receiving Free Early Education.

This extra funding will be paid directly to childcare providers . A parent registering for the EYPP could raise up to an extra £300 a year for your childcare provision. 

Qualifying Criteria is the same as points 1—8 shown above.
